Lisbon and Porto, Portugal: A Week of Wonder
Share
Over the course of a week, I had the privilege of exploring two of Portugal's most captivating cities: Lisbon and Porto. What I enjoyed most about this trip was the freedom to wander without an agenda, allowing me to truly get to know each city's unique rhythm. My early morning runs became a highlight, as I discovered hidden gems and breathed in the fresh morning air, watching the cities come alive.
In Lisbon, I marveled at iconic landmarks like the majestic Belem Tower and the stunning Lisbon Cathedral. My morning runs started at Eduardo VII Park, taking me through the triumphant Arco Rua Augusta. For a scenic walk or ride, I recommend starting at Belem Tower and exploring the cultural attractions, including the fascinating Museums and the historic Geronimos Monastery.
Between sightseeing, I indulged in delicious matchas at cozy coffee shops like Comoba Lisboa and Numa Cafe, savored lunch at Fabric, and explored the diverse culinary options at Time Out Market in Mercado Da Ribeira. My culinary highlight was dinner at Rocco Ristorante, a true favorite! I also discovered breathtaking viewpoints like Mirador Santa Lucia and Mirador Pedro de Alcantara in Barrio Alto.
The trip continued with a 3-hour train ride to Porto, a city with plenty of hills and stairs. My favorite walk was around Se Cathedral do Porto, offering stunning city views. From there, I crossed Ponte Luiz and relaxed at Jardim do Morro, taking in the views. I enjoyed a good breakfast at Zenith, goods snacks from Mercado Do Bolhão and highly recommend El Flow for dinner.
